The Daytona 500 is over and man wasn’t that race long…6 & ½ hours worth of TV time listening to the ‘announcers’ ramble on and on about the same subjects 99% of race fans already know! Do we really need that silly cut away car? Honestly, every week it’s the same stuff they report on each and every race! The average race fan knows how these cars are built as most are/were drivers at their local tracks, myself a former go-kart racer, or they can work on a vehicle! This is one of the main reasons I watch the race on DirecTV Hotpass so I can tune out the ‘reporting’ and listen to in-car radio or the radio broadcast.
OK, I’ve got the ranting opinion out of my system now!
The FASCAR H2H Series hit the track on Sunday for the 52nd running of the Daytona 500 and it turned out to be wild! After two Red Flags for a pothole in Turn 2 we have Race 1 completed. The race was not without incident, as four driver’s sustained damage to their cars due to an accident caused by the hole. Katie Cardwell’s # 12 Toyota bottomed out on the hole with 80 to go causing her to spin out, causing major damage to her Splitter and front-end suspension, taking Austin Ebach, Ben Garnett, and Jonathan Carlisle for a ride with her. The 95, 27, and 96 only had minor fender damage though this still upset the rest of their day.
H2H Series Daytona 500 Results:
Whooz Racing over AE Motorsports
L&K Racing over Renegade Motorsports
Weaving Winners Racing over JCR Motorsports
Dega Racing over Scarlett Motorsports
Smoke Motorsports over Raisin’ Kahne Racing
Next up is the Nationwide Stater Bros. 300 at Auto Club Speedway on Saturday Feb. 20 at 4 pm CST! Good luck to everyone, and remember that the Picks will lock at 12:00 Noon CST on Friday.

Great writeup, it was a long race the the end was worth the wait. For awhile there thought I had been beat by Austin and would have to cut the grass LOL.
It's a shame when you get caught up in an accident that was not your own, but the hole in the track, that is just a shame for it to happen at this track and this particular race. I saw the #12 hit the hole and then there went the tire. From there on it was just a chain reaction event. We were just riding around toward the back trying to avoid getting involved in something like that and then it gets us back there in the back of the pack. But we will regroup and head out to Fontana, and hopefully have better luck out there.

After seeing the #11 spin out after a few laps into the race I figured that I had my match up this week. Then I got lose and almost took out the #95 but, ended up just spinning out and had just minor damage to the car -- I came in and got some gas & 4 new Goodyears which ended up putting me a lap down.
After the mayhem that the #12 Katie Cardwell caused, it looks like the #11 Angie Ebach ran over something causing her right rear tire to go down allowing me to pass her on the last lap.
It wasn't the day we where looking for but, we did come home with the win.

I thought I really had a good chance of winning this weekend but, after all the Mayhem caused by the pothole and getting minor damage to the car -- I could never get my John Deere Chevy back to where it was at the start of the race.
After cutting the grass at Daytona, we headed back to the shop to get our FASCAR Mayhem Nationwide Series Car ready for the Stater Bros. 300. As we plan on getting our 1st win of the Season.
It was a good race this weekend. I thought my goose was cooked after spining out but, after Wendal spun out I thought that I had a chance -- it was a good race to the finish until my tire when down on the last lap.
We will win against Whooz Racing this year -- I can feel it.
Speedweeks was horrible to my # 12 Oreo Toyota, and after two last place finishes in the Shootout & 500, I will be turning up the heat in Fontana on Saturday! Until that pothole we had a real good shot at getting past Dega Racing for the win in Week 1, and I apologize for ruining 3 of my fellow racers days.
Hopefully your luck turns around and the drivers that you have wrecked in the last 2 weeks dont pay you back and you have one of them this weekend in the #96.
Nah, it's all fine by me Katie. I know things will happen. Of course I wasn't expecting a pothole to develop in the track. Blame Digger for that one! Seriously I would be happy if they just repaved the whole track much like they did with Talladega, Darlington, and Bristol.
Best of luck champ here at Fontana. It will be fun testing out the NEW champ in her first defense in Nationwide Series, at a track that the #96 Omega Chevrolet has won at.
"Hopefully Speedweeks is a sign of good things to come this year for Dega Racing," Joseph said Thursday afternoon from his Alabama shop before heading out to Auto Club Speedway tonight. "Last year we made the Chase, but couldn't get the momentum we needed to really fight for the Championship. So far the switch to Toyota and our Alliance with Scarlett Motorsports & getting engine support from Joe Gibbs Racing has worked to our advantage. Though it's going to be difficult to adjust the first part of this Season switching from Cup, to FNS, to Trucks, and back all season, but we'll manage and get it right. We hope to continue this great run we're having to get us into the Play-Offs after Talladega in October."

It sure will make it fun jumping from Cup to Nationwide to Trucks. What will be neat is to see which Drivers/Owners/Teams can made the right adjustments each week to their Cars & Trucks for each race.
