FASCAR Classic Series Race #4

Missouri – Illinois Dodge Dealers 250

Gateway International Raceway

The FASCAR Classic Series revs back into action this week as we make our way into Gateway International Raceway.  Over the next six weeks, we will have four Classic Series races.  This should go a long way in determining who will be challenging to become the FASCAR Classic Series Champion of 2010.  This week the Nationwide cars will take the track in a bit of Classic Series action.

Things are very tight and competitive within the Classic Series at the moment, and with seven races still left to be run, it’s still anybody’s game.

In first place is Whooz Racing.  With a 2nd place finish at Pocono in June, Wendal leaped into first place.  That first place lead is quite slim.  The good news for the #23 Chevy is that he has finished in fifth place or better in the first three Classic Series races so far this season.  Can he make it 4 for 4 and keep the points lead?

Our second place competitor is Megan Ebach.  Little Diva Inc. won at Pocono and the win leaped the #18 team five places into second place.  Just like Wendal above her, the advantage is very slim.  Two points separate her and 3rd place while five points separate her from 4th place.  Finish well and you gain ground, finish poorly and you loose ground.  Megan won the last time at Pocono, how will she do this time?

Third place is another Ebach.  This one is a Renegade of sorts.  The young #95 team and their driver Austin Ebach.  Austin has a victory in this series this season and is really hungry in making that two wins.  If he does, then this series could have a new leader.

Waiting patiently in fourth place is Angie Ebach.  Her #11 team has tasted what it is like to be a points leader in this series.   She too is looking for that second win this season within the Classic Series.  Only 12 points out from first, is easily within striking range of her family leaders.  Will the “Queen of FASCAR” take back her throne this weekend?

Now we take a seing to the “Southern side” of the FASCAR drivers.  Our fifth place driver is Jonathan Carlisle.  With a 3rd place finish at Pocono, this team finds themself ready to go forward in the standings.  Their biggest concern is consistency, and can they keep a good steady consistent run going through the Classic Series?

Next is the 6th place driver of Joseph Cardwell.  His Dr. Pepper Toyota slipped a bit at the “Poc”, and thus it cost him two spots in the standings.  With only one Top 5 in three races so far, this team is trying to find that right combination that will lead them to the front of the pack.  Watch out if they do.

In the FASCAR Mayhem Series, the #55 team is one of the hottest teams on the circuit right now.  In the Classic Series, Linda and her team is the 7th place team.  Maybe a slow start, but there is still time to recover.  If she gets this #55 Chevy in the wind, it could be “ciao” to the field.

Eighth place belongs to Mychal Cardwell.  Smoke Motorsports has come to life in the Mayhem Series.   In the Classic Series, the #39 Chevy has two poles this season, yet only one top 5.  For this team to make a run at the top that must improve.  Another dangerous team, just like the #55.  Only question is will time run out before they find that hot streak?

In ninth place is Scarlett Motorsports.  Driving the #12 Toyota, is Katie Cardwell.  Disappointment would be one word to describe this young team’s season thus far.  There is still time for a turn around.  However, solid finishes must be completed by this team in order to be able to compete for the top places in the standings.

Sitting in 10th place is the #10 Cartoon Network Ford.  Plain and simple rookie luck has befallen Vincent and his team in both the Classic Series and in the Mayhem Series.  Any forward progress with this team would be as sweet as a victory upon itself.  Of course, a victory would be like receiving a second chance.  This team must create those chances or else they may find themself out of contention very quickly.

Well, it has been called the Ebach Streak now it has been renamed to the North Streak Great Win Mom. You Guys put on a heck of a show at the end.

My #23 ND Game & Fish Chevy didn't have anything for you 2 at the end. Tho, I'm happy with a 3rd place finish after being a lap down earlier in the race due to loose lug nuts. I will take it.

I would like to thank my team for getting the car fixed up after I had a tire blow out. It was not the day we where looking for but, there is 6 more races to get back up there and get that championship.

I would like to say Congratulations on your win Grandma.

At least we know how to drive here in FASCAR as Schmaltz & Cardwell didn't take each other out like Edwards & Keselowski did.

Congrats on your win Grandma.

As for our day at the Gateway Int'l Raceway we started on the pole which was great. We thought we had the car to win but, after the green flag dropped Saturday afternoon we just couldn't find the right set up to win the race.

Congrats on your win Mom. Way to keep the North Streak going in the FASCAR Classic Series Mom.

I would like to say I'm sorry to the #12 Oreo Toyota of Katie Cardwell, I tried to avoid hitting you after your tire went down on lap 151. It all happened way to fast.
