The U.S. Cellular 250 marks the midway point in the FASCAR Classic Series.FASCAR returns to Iowa Speedway for the second time this season. The season is halfway to crowning the Classic Series champion, but before we can commence the coronation there is still plenty of racing to do.With competition as close as it is, anyone can still be the champion.
The current leader in the Classic Series, #23 Wendal Ebach, survived at Gateway International Raceway and still has a slim hold onto first place, but only by seven points.Whooz Racing has done quite well so far in the Series by finishing in the Top 5 in all four races thus far. Will it be 5 for 5 after race #5?
In second place is the winner from Gateway. The #55 Chevy won a tough battle last time to notch her first win in the Classic Series. With the win, L&K jumped from seventh to second in the standings. That can show you just how important a win can be in the Classic Series. Now she has her eyes set on #1.
Third place in the standings goes to Austin and his #95 team. After winning in Las Vegas earlier this season, Renegade Motorsports has not finished in the Top 5 of the other Classic Series races. The win has helped to keep Austin in the top half of the field and he finds himself only 24 points behind the leader.
One solid finish or a second win for this team, and there could be a new leader of the pack.
Dega Racing occupies fourth place currently. The Dr. Pepper Toyota has had two good finishes and two finishes outside the Top 5.What will this race bring for the #31 team?Who knows?Joseph is one of six teams to win in the Classic Series this season.A win would propel this team quite possibly to #1, or #2.
JCR Motorsports is next in fifth place.Consistent would be a good word to describe the Omega Chevy so far this season in the Classic Series. With the lone exception of a tenth place finish at Talladega, this team has finished very well with a 2nd, 3rd, and a 5th place finish. We will see if consistency and patience pays off or if some aggressive patience is what’s needed for Jonathan and his team.
One of the biggest losers from Gateway would be the #18 LDI Toyota. After two great finishes in a row, the 10th place finish was something that this team did not want to see.Now we must see how this young team responds to pressure. The good news is Megan is only 43 points back.It can be done in one race.See the #55 as an example.
The 7th place car belongs to Angie Ebach.AE Motorsports took a hit at Gateway and stumbled because of the bad finish. This team is very much capable of regaining their momentum quickly and leaping to the front. With six races left, there is plenty of time to do just that.Do not count out the #11 Dodge.
Lurking toward the rear of the field is the #39 Bakugan Chevy.Mychal Cardwell is one of the more improving drivers of the FASCAR Series as the year goes on.With two rough finishes in the Classic Series, he grabbed a 5th place finish at Pocono and a 2nd place finish at Gateway.Just like the #11, look for this team to make some noise in these last few races, and possibly be in the Top 5 or Top 3 when it is all over with.
Our ninth place competitor is the #12 Scarlett Motorsports Toyota. It’s been a rough four races thus far for Katie and her team. With three 8th place finishes, they find themselves in a difficult spot to make up valuable ground. Can it be done?Yes.However, this time will have to begin to over-achieve if they want to be in the fight for the Classis Series Championship.
In tenth place is the #10 Cartoon Network Ford.I would say that a finish of 6th or better for this team would be almost like a victory for Vincent. This team has shown signs of life in the Mayhem Series just recently, so you cannot fully count them out just yet. However, with a 106 margin to make up in six races, this team will need to hit its marks for each race in order to have a chance.

I can't believe it #1 spot well I will have to keep it for awhile it has been along time getting there. I want to thank my team for the great work they did keeping the #55 Diet Coke Chevy where it is right now. Thank you .
Well, it looks like 4 tires was the way to go but, after our 10th place finish at Gateway this was like a win for your team. I would like to congrats grandma on winning the race.
We started the day outside of Katie in 2nd and ended up 5th at the end of the race. We fell back once the sun went down and after that last restart we thought we had the car to win but, with the #55 taking 4 tires and blowing right past us all I then knew we didnt have the car to win.
